The grinder on my Jura coffee machine seems to be laboring lately. I have taken it to Fust and they have quoted me chf 98 for the estimate and a minimum of chf 300 for repair.

We had a Jura machine, which had a problem, they are a pain to take apart. I managed to find a picture service guide ( in english ) written by a guy in Germany.
I thought I had deleted the file, when we got rid of the machine after a big break, but it was sitting in my recycle bin !!

Fust will try and repair anything, and are unlikely to be quoting you outrageous prices.
In my opinion the high cost is because Jura are charging too much for the spare parts.

Send it across the border to Germany. Plenty of repair shops there that are much less expensive than their Swiss equivalents:
I once visited the Jura factory and they have a "bring in repair" service... no idea about the prices, but I'd expect Fust and others to have a mark-up as well as need longer than the rather specialized guys at Jura?
The factory is right next to the highway, so if you ever are in the area might this be an option?
when I bought mine on Ricardo, it came with a copy of a service bill of 325 CHF. I would never spend that on a coffee machine...
