Arrived a few weeks ago in Nyon with hubby and 2 kids. Would like to socialize with other moms and desperately looking for daycares/play groups/toddler activities.

Open parc for kids and parents is in signal de bougy. Very, very nice!
How old are your kids?
There is gymboree in geneva and kidsup in lausanne for sport activities.

Adding to the previous posters list, there is baby gym, for babies, toddlers and children in Vich/Gland. www.babygym.ch
If looking for daycare, there are basically 3 possibilities, public daycare, private daycare, and care with a private mother usually at their home. The first and third ones would be arranged by the authorities in Nyon, acceuil petit enfance. Be aware, daycare is expensive and waiting lists are often long. You may have priorities if single parent family, both working, etc. otherwise be prepared to wait some time. Otherwise private daycare are generally more receiving. I beleive there are two in Nyon. Search the local yellow pages www.local.ch for creche and you should find.

welcome and i hope you are settling in well. we moved here about 3 months ago. because of the long waiting lists for creches, i find the garderies quite useful:
