JVC Mini DV Camcorder but no sound ,,,,help please??

Hi I have a JVC mini DV GR DA20E I am not getting any sound on playback after recording and I cant find anyone to help.

When I go to the JVC site it wont find this camcorder instructions and similar instructions dont have troubleshooting tips on the download.

I have been into the menu and the sound is turned on.

Anyone got any ideas please , it is my little girls assembly on Monday and I want to record it thanks

Can the camera accept an external mike? That might be an alternative to look at.

Is there a "mute" button that has accidentally been activated?

As a last ditch attempt to record something, maybe your digital camera (photo) has a movie mode? Set this to the highest quality setting and record the assembly with that. I recorded our villages' Fasnacht celebrations last week using my digital compact. Quality was very good.

Do you have sound when you output the recording to a TV set? If you do , then it could something as simple as the volume is turned right down on your camera.
