I am going to give Pooh Bear a go for end of the month (1 yr old) and I think I am sold on the dinosaur for March (4 year old).

maybe it's too late but I made 2 cakes for my son's 6 years old birthday.
One is a tower as you see, I made many small cream puffs and constructed a tower. It's called croquembouche in French.
And for kids party, I made a big chocolate cake. But actually Swiss kids like more simple butter cake or so...
My son is half Japanese and half Swiss.

I made this cake for my son's 4th b'day party. It was a big hit and quite easy to make (and this is said by a non-baker!!). I forget how I made the green - I think I just used food coloring with regular icing. Track is made from crushed cookes (I used oreos) and I used new and clean cars to put on the cake.
