Kiwi Mum moving to Unteraegeri

Hi,

I am a kiwi, married to a Swiss and have a one year old daughter. We are moving to Unteraegeri in July and I would love to meet other Mums in the area. Presently in Bulach (ZH) and found it very lonely. So any helpful contacts with baby groups, baby swim, Mum groups etc would be most appreciated.

Looking forward to the move and hoping we will all feel quickly at home.

Thanks

Good Morning.

Welcome to the forum.

It is possible that Unteraegeri will end up even lonelier than Bùˆlach

Though through a recent visit to the Swiss- New Zealand club, ( http://www.nzclub.ch/ ) I found that there were a lot of people from the Old Country in the area of Zug.

Another thing to do is to get in touch with the "mutterberatung" in your area. (It may be called "elternberatug" now, but i doubt it).

And the German classes. Not only are these good for meeting people, but they allow you to choose your friends, and not just have them limited to the people that speak the same language as you...

Oh.. and hang out here.. its a repertoire of bored, lonely housewives

Thanks, but you don't sound too hopeful or positive. As for hanging out in the forum, I honestly do not have the time. Am just hoping to meet some other Mums in the Zug region. Thanks for the website.

Hi there. Unteraegeri is a wonderful place and full of english speaking people. You will not be lonely at all. I will PM you details of a group of international women in the area and if you have any questions feel free to ask. C

Hi I am also a kiwi married to a Swiss with 2 boys. If you want to join us for a bbq in the park sometime ,we are in Zurich, drop me a line.

Hi There

I'm a kiwi married to a German and we have a 2 and a half year old girl.

We live in the middle of nowhere, too and found the locls really friendly and willing to socialize. You just have to play your cards right and you'll be fine.

You know the deal: Learn the language and culture and grease the neighbours (esp. those with kids) up with real homebake.

Will you be a stay at home Mum or are you planning to work a bit?

Good luck

Puddy

Hi there,

I have recently arrived in CH! We are in Allenwinden (not far away from you) with my hubby and two girls (8yrs and 7yrs). We have been away from the Land of the Long White Cloud for about 11 years. We have just moved from the Netherlands to here after spending 8 years in England. Happy to meet up for a coffee and a chat. Send me a PM if you want to meet Tracey

Hello Everyone,

I am bumping this old thread, I hope you can share your experience of living in Unteraegeri. We are planning to move in.

Thank you!
