kuhn rikon versus silit frypan?

this is only my experience with recent non-stick pans but -

i have an expensive kuhn rikon non-stick frypan and a cheap silit non-stick frypan. they are both about the same age, two years old, and i treat them both the same - cook at medium or low temps, and wash them by hand

to my surprise, the kuhn rikon has got poorer and poorer at non-stick. in fact for omelette, it's not much different now to an ordinary frypan

the silit pan is still very good at being non-stick

does anyone have opinions about these two brands or preferences for other brands? i am wondering if i was earlier judging silit too negatively because they are not an international brand like kuhn rikon...

I prefer silit.

I've been through the gamut of different pans, many different non-stick types including several of the higher end (higher priced) versions. I steer away from teflon, but even the anodized aluminum begins to lose its non-stick qualities and I wonder what how healthy these are after they wear a bit. And they wear faster than I expected. So I've been looking for other options for materials that are completely non-reactive. I found the Silit recommended in a forum online, and it sounded worth a try. It is a superb pan! Quite frankly, the best fry pan I've ever owned. A good hefty weight to it, heats up well and evenly (I've made frying pan bread in it), so far completely non-stick, and cleans up easily. Very high quality manufacture. We'll see how it holds up in 6 months, but right now I would be very surprised if there is an issue. After two weeks of daily use, it looks just like when I got it out of the box.

Yes same with my Silit, it is a good pan. Actually thinking about it, I should just dump the Kuhn Rikon and get a second Silit. Thanks for sharing your experience which made up my mind!

How did the ceramic pans come out in general. Did you find that Silit was the best of that type?

Bumping an old thread but recently acquired Kuhn Rikon multiply frying pans - stainless steel with aluminum core, titanium coating (PFOA-free) used in aviation & space travel. Swiss made, 5 year warranty.

Been using it for a few weeks, as advertised - feels like the pan to rule them all

I just tossed 2 kuhn frying pans (alu with teflon coat, it wore off shortly), after a few years. I got Tefal one for xmas and will probably get cast iron one. I will only use Tefal as a back up.

I dislike alu anywhere near food.

I bought a set of Circulon pans (similar to https://www.amazon.com/Circulon-8276...SIN=B005GYUMKI at a similar price) in 2013, and I'm starting to feel like the non-stick is slowly less performant.

The pans would have been used a couple thousand times? No extra care taken while cooking (aka. probably turned up the heat way too much sometimes or left it on the electric burner without remembering to shut it off). They seem great, it's been about 7 years. I checked, 76$ for 3 pans. I can recommend them if they can be found here.
