Anyone knows the condition of the L-permit? Will it end when the job ends early? Will the permit get cancelled? Does the person need to leave the country immediately or can stay here until the permit expires?

The job has ended inevitably. Ideally the person would like to stay and look for another job but not sure if L-permit is allowed to change employment.
L permit is tied to the employer so if the job ends so does the permit.
6 months isn’t really long enough to qualify for unemployment plus there’s the problem of any Swiss employer having to prove they can’t find a Swiss/EU national to do the job to be able to hire you.
Depending on the nationality you might be able to stay here for 3 months as a “tourist”, i.e. if you don’t need a tourist visa to enter Switzerland. If you do need a tourist visa then yes, you’ll have to leave the country within a few weeks of the job finishing. Ask your cantonal migration office how long you may have if that’s the situation you’re in.

What does inevitably mean?
I had this situation once, and i was allowed to switch to a new job on an L permit.
You can only do this if the job is terminated due to some extreme circumstances and also it was not your fault. In my case the firm went bankrupt.
My new employer at that time applied for a new permit and it was relatively so quick.
I think if i would have found a new job quicker, i would had to leave the country. Not sure though!

The permit is issued by the cantonal migration authorities, so in that sense the employer can’t “cancel” it.
However, the employer can end the employment with sufficient notice as set out in the contract.
If you have no job and are not eligible for unemployment, it seems logical that the permit expires upon the end of the job.
In order to find another job, you need to find another employer that is willing to go through the non-EU hiring process again. That means proving there’s no Swiss or EU that can do the job.
Others have mentioned staying as a tourist while you hunt for another job. This may or may not be possible. New Zealanders can be in Switzerland for 90 days without a visa, but according to this page , they can’t be intending to work and need a return ticket back to NZ.
You’ve got a lot going on right now. If you wish to stay in Switzerland, I recommend you do NOT quit this job before you have a solid plan of how you’re going to move forward.
