Language books can be ordered on Galaxus

It took me by surprise that I can order books cheaper on Galaxus than Orell füssli and yet get it quickly with free shipping.

Why are you surprised? Swiss books shops are rather expensive.

That surprises me too. I would never have looked for books on Galaxus. But a quick check on their website gave me “586 690 Produkte”.

But I must say, since so many of my longstanding on-line suppliers have vanished I’m lead to Galaxus as a result of the craziest searches. It’s become a huge "Jelmoli"like thing.
I could even buy tobacco there! Or underwear, or honey, or detergent, furniture or if I fancy a MG MG4 Luxury 64, gotta be quick though, only one on stock
I was kind of glad to see they don’t offer cats or goldfish …
So yeah, interesting info. I’ll check for books there too now.

Galaxus are basically the Amazon of Switzerland.

Lots of the stuff now gets shipped directly from independent suppliers with correspondingly vague delivery times.

I’d never buy from Galaxus, their T&C allowing price changes even after you’ve received the goods (and possibly already paid) are simply unacceptable.

As much as I love galaxus/digitec, I try to buy the stuff that I can from a brick-and-mortar shop. Could be age, but I believe in the hypothesis that online shopping is amongst the reasons for more and more lack of human interactions.

For tech stuff, no question, but they now “carry” even beer and food.

I’ve been dealing with them regularly for as long as I can remember (been here 35 years) and not once has this happened to me. Has it happened to you?

I believe it’s not their T&Cs but Swiss consumer law which allows them to correct “obvious” mistakes. So far no one has challenged them in court and until someone does …

What you say is correct, nonetheless it’s entirely unrelated to my point.

But the books on real Amazon are still much cheaper. And free delivery as well.

Galaxus agreed to sell us a laptop for an advertised price, which was too low by mistake. I have had only positive experience with them.

Not for me and delivery costs of books from Amazon UK are extortionate.
