Does anyone have any experience of the learning disability exemption from the C-permit and naturalisation language requirements? Specifically assessments for (severe) dyslexia? Would appreciate any anecdotal evidence or advice, by PM if you prefer.

The person in question needs to provide evidence of why they cannot learn the language, for example by presenting a medical certificate, a literacy development course certificate or a certificate from a speech therapist. The cantonal authorities or SEM will consider an applicant’s personal circumstances carefully and in full when assessing their language skills.

Purely anecdotal but I have a friend who got an exemption in Basel due to chronic pain issues making it difficult to follow language classes.
They had to provide doctor’s notes to back up their claims.
I would imagine dyslexia would be the same. If you can provide documentary evidence then it should be taken into consideration. There are concessions made in schools and other exam situations to accommodate dyslexia.
Do you think anyone in CH would be able to do an assessment in English? If not, would a UK assessment be accepted? The person in question is of an age when it was not recognised at school age (and certainly no concessions then).
Also, obviously would be required for naturalisation, but what about a renewal of a C-permit? According to the table in this doc , I don't believe there is a lang requirement for renewals, only new first-time C permits?
