I'm looking to buy a nice pair of new business shoes; sort of traditional, black, laces etc. Nothing too fancy just professional / classic looking. Looking for decent quality / leather and happy to spend a little but not too much sort of thinking < 200CHF, ideally <150 CHF.
I need to find a pair tonight and only have a few hours after work so was looking for some tips in terms of larger shops where I could find what I'm looking for. My current plan is to head into the city and try the larger Vogele / Clarkes etc but looking for any hot tips in terms of larger shops that might help with what I'm looking for....don't know so much about clothes shops in the city!
Check out St. Annahof (Coop on Bahnhofstrasse), they have a large selection at the back of the store. Good prices and a largish selection.. Or Tiefenbacher at the back of Jelmoli next to C&A... Happy shopping.
You can try El Classico (Beethovenst 24, across from the Hyatt hotel or if by tram then the Stokerst. tram station). Its a Menswear botique, not a large shop, but they carry a selection of good quality, classic business shoes and can order almost anything else on request. As a bonus they speak fluent English. I don't know how much time you have after work, but they close at 6:30 on weekdays, so its worth noting if you are heading there. Although Thursdays till 8.
Dosenbach carry a decent selection of classical men's leather business shoes for around 100-150chf. Go to Sihl City, there are sales still on there at the moment.
