Hello,
Over the week I am going to be placing a big online order from a UK online shop (topman). As I don't want to pay any ridiculous fee's for having them sent here (as they will be over CHF 65 limit), I am going to have them delivered somewhere in Germany - close to the Basel border.
I have come across a delivery address, named LAS-Burg just by the Weil am Rhein / Basel border, and wanted to check if anyone else had used them and could possibly give me some feedback.
It's going to be quite a hiigh price order and I just don't want anything to go wrong?
Any comments would be really appreciated!
Then have it sent to Switzerland, the taxes will be less then having it sent to Germany.
It's only low value shipments (over CHF 65 but less than a few hundred) that result in the processing charge being significant compared to the low 8% VAT.

st2lemans is right. I did the math at one point and from memory, the break-even seems to be about EUR160-. If the order costs more than that, the savings on VAT outweigh the CHF18- admin fee and you're better off having the items sent directly to Switzerland (provided the vendor is happy to send them to Switzerland -- some will only ship to EU destinations).
Also, if you're in a hurry for your goods, have them sent to an EU address. Customs clearance in Switzerland is a slow business and it routinely takes 2+ weeks for my goods to arrive; when they're sent across the border to Germany, they usually arrive in 3-4 days.
Finally, a recommendation for LAS Burg. If you do a search you'll find lots of good reports, but they've recently upgraded to have more staff available, reducing the waiting time to pick up your goods. It's a very slick operation.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. Sorry, I should have made myself more clear. The order will only be about GBP 250 in total, and that will be across Topman and ASOS. So it would probably be better to send to Germany, right?
Is it one shipment, or more?
If one, then definitely more cost effective to have it shipped to CH, especially as you will have to pay Swiss VAT to bring it over the border from Germany as it is over the CHF 300 limit.

I've used use LAS-Burg a few times without any problems. You get an email to say when the package has arrived and its super cheap and very efficient.
Depends. If the shop does not charge the UK VAT for shipping outside the EU, then it will be cheaper to have it shipped directly to Switzerland and pay the tax here. Otherwise ... find a different shop ;-)
