On the "leaving switzerland form ("wegzug ins Ausland"), I am asked to give my new address abroad. Why is this information required? I am moving to an Air B N B in Germany as I do not have a fixed address so what is the point of giving the Air B N B address?
As I understand I have to pay an amount to cover my taxes before leaving. I can't see how having a foreign address could help for fines and taxes to be recovered as there is no check that it actually is my address.
The Swiss like to tick boxes, your next address is the Air B&B.
My Malta registration & HSBC asked for a permanent address abroad, I gave the address I had lived in ZH for the previous 15+ years. I did have mail redirection but it's just for a form. You could put Unknown
One of our tenants moved out in May, and has clearly not correctly deregistered. As far as I know she's living with her boyfriend just over the border in France, but she never left a forwarding address and her (swiss) phone doesn't work any more.
Recently I realised that there was some mail still arriving for her, including a poursuite and some presumed unpaid bills from Salt - the postman told me I should just remove her name from the letterbox and return all the mail, including a couple of registered mail notifications, to the local post office.
So I can very well see why the official process should include giving a new address abroad. She's going to have real problems if she wants to work with the ski school here again next season.
Don't the swiss love the tick boxes, if they haven't got a box to tick they might have to think.
When we left I gave the tax office my accountants address for taxes only, they took over a year to do my last taxes with no queries what so ever. As we were going to be travelling round Australia for 9 months after leaving I just gave them my email address as told them to use that if they wanted to contact me.
