Legal advisors for permits info/help

Good morning,

I am looking for a legal advisory firm that can help me with some issues regarding permits in Switzerland.

I found this online service legalexpat.ch, they charge 150CHF for 45min consultation or 300CHF for 3h consultation.

I couldn't find enough reviews online to find out if they are a legit company or if they just grab money out of people in need to tell them the obvious.

Did you ever heard of them, or do you know any other advisory firm I could contact?

What problem to you have, or what type of legal advice are you looking for? This is an anonymous forum with many members who have lots of experience with the Swiss permit procedure, you might be able to get good advice here for free, and save the hassle and expense of paying for a lawyer.

The law in this area is very well codified so no matter which lawyer you go with they will be taking money from you for telling you what you can easily find out here on the internet.

For instance whether there is a shortage in the labour market is determined by the figures issued by Eurostat. If the stats say there is a surplus of widget makers, no lawyer can make those figures go away and so on.

I want to apply for concubinage for my third-party national girlfriend (or seek any possible alternative that is not marriage)

Plus I need some advice on how to change first residence (since we have to live together) while keeping the secondary residence (as I move between two cities quite often and I don't want to leave the other house I live in)

I don't speak french (we are in VAUD) and I found it super hard to receive information (even the office of immigrants doesn't know anything)

You certainly don’t need a lawyer’s help to meet the requirements to apply for one.

You don’t have other choices - it’s marriage or the concubine permit. Otherwise she’d have to find a job here herself which is probably out of the question unless she’s well qualified/experienced in her career.

A concubine permit is up to the discretion of the canton. However, it is said, that Vaud is one of the canton were this is possible. See info page linked by Medea.
