Hi folks, So I understand that most, if not all, Swiss Legal-insurance (Rechtsschutz) companies do NOT cover immigration law cases. But what if I only need cover for a lawyer’s fees related to paper-work i.e filling out application forms for residence permits for me? There is no ‘case’ in question because there isn’t a legal dispute or legal case being fought. Just wanting to ask if the insurance covers the most often exorbitantly high consultation and paper work fees?
Does anyone know?
Thank you.
I doubt it. Insurance is supposed to be for special cases, otherwise if would be very expensive if they cover just regular work. You can always ask. One poster over-used legal insurance for trivial matters and the insurance company cancelled the insurance.
Looks like I’ll have to bear the consultation costs on my own
Any more experiences or answers are welcome
Without providing too much personal information that you don’t want to share, why do you think you need a lawyer to fill out paperwork for a residence permit? The rules are pretty straightforward, so one shouldn’t (normally) need a lawyer, at least not at the starting gate.
