Leimbach area review

Can anybody share any feedback/review about how Leimbach neighbourhood is for living with family(very young kids) ?

we were looking for something in Kilchberg/ Adliswil and then saw a few Leimbach apartments advertised on comparis.

The rents seemed low, hence am curious whether the area is nice for families.

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Seem to be quite a few big high reises in Leimbach. I didn't like it and stuck to Adliswil.

Don't forget, taxes are higher in Leimbach than Adliswil, let alone Kilchberg...

We are living in Adliswil currently, and I guess even though its only 2 KM distance - whatever said and done - Adliswil is a bigger town than Adliswil. With Migros opening recently shopping might have eased, but there ́s nothing much to be done in Liembach....Besides, it ́s being in Zurich vs. not

Hi,

We have the chance to move to Leimbach. The area seems a bit "desert". Was it my impression? We are currently living in Kreis 3, Wiedikon and we have shops and everyting around... Can you please comment on this? I have a daughter, 6 yo, she would have to change school... Thank you.

It looks like there is not much sun there, as it is a valley. Not much going on there but they are building huge apartment complexes there now, so they probably think it will be a booming disctrict soon.

yeah, I just drove past. There is a huge event going on by Leimbach standards: the first day of the new bakery!

A Bakery sounds good! The problem with Leimbach - at least today - is that I am falling in love with Kilchberg...

Did you decide to move to Kilchberg or Leimbach?

Hi!

We have actually moved to Kreis 7!

But I still love Kilchberg.

Something which was not really mentioned. Leimbach is part of the City of Zurich Kreis 2 (Wollishofen, Enge, Leimbach).

Kreis 7 very most likely has more sun than Leimbach.

Two of those high rises are old age homes. There's a large density of them. It's a good neighbourhood if you like calm family socialising and parks. There's a bunch of new Minergie buildings going up, so I suspect rents will increase. It used to be on my way to work on bike before WFH.

Generally, it seems like a nice neighborhood. The grocery stores in the area have terrible selection though. Maybe the fancy new buildings will bring better selection in the grocery stores.

Leimbach is locked in a narrow valley. Heavy road traffic. And the sun disappears very early behind Uetliberg. Not a recommended place.
