LF [looking for] Restaurant in Zug

Hello world,

I’m an Aussie currently visiting Switzerland, and I’m looking for a restaurant in Zug to celebrate my birthday tomorrow. So far, I’ve only tried Restaurant Aklin & the Butcher. Please advise of any delicious dishes to try!

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the Forum

What kind of food do you like/prefer? Also how many people? (Will you need long tables for a group or just 3-6 friends?)

Also take a look to this:

Also be sure to make a reservation

The Italian in the old town is nice. Used to be called Liguria, but now called Ana Capri. Their salt baked fish is great and to start fresh tortellini with sage butter. (And fresh truffle if they have)

Felsenkeller just up from there is a great wine bar.

The Skybar (or skylounge?) is a cool place for drinks, if a bit snooty.

While not in Zug, the best meal I've had recently was at https://steakhouse-bahnhof.ch/

This is in Metmestetten, about a 15 minute drive. Massive grill with a few types of meat and a handful of sides to choose from. But done so well!

Bacco in Arth looks abandoned from the outside but great Italian cooking in a simple environment. In summer great as it's right on the late

Thanks! Already read those, very old posts. Though I suppose it doesn't change much around here.

Awesome! I'll go try them all~ Thank you very much <3

What's an LF restaurant, by the way?

Edit : I see it now, Looking For restaurant. I R a bit slow tonight.

Ristorante Pasteria Rothelberg

Blasenbergstrasse 15, Zug 6300, Schweiz

very nice Italian

Zug is a bit hard to find great restaurant... but if I dine out in Zug I go to "The Blinker"

Hardly....

Aklin

Waldhaus

Zum Kaiser Franz im Rössl

Rathauskeller Bistro

Hafenrestaurant

Colonia Italiana Zug

Restaurant Schiff

To name just a few.....

I might be a bit to picky foodwise... the Rathauskeller ok... but the rest not so much up my alley...

I go more for the healthy and elegant food, like the Ecco in Zurich... but everybodies taste is so individual...

Hafenrestaurant for sure, fancy and good food. Of course, expensive.

Elegant food???? What is that? Do the vegetables bow nicely before you are allowed to eat that?

Restaurant Löwen

Have you actually been to these restaurants and eaten in them ?

But the Ecco is not the standard every day restaurant For a special occasion it for sure is a good choice, but that doesn't mean that restaurants without Michelin stars are not worth to enjoy.
