Life in Crans Montana

I have been here for one month. Everyday is pretty much the same. This is difficult to meet people and make friends here. I am thinking if I should join some french course here.

Welcome to the forum. Wait untill winter sets in, your area will be crowded soon.

yeah crans gets packed middle of december. You are in a ski town so what do you expect....also you have the Les Roches hotel school there (if that is your age group (18-22) so go out in that area....

That's... really quite an informative post you've got going there...

1) being one place for 1 month is not a long time

2) you are in a mountain village, which is primarily a ski resort

3) ski season hasn't really kicked off yet and weather isn't great for outdoors/summer stuff right now

...what exaclty did you expect?

If you are looking for action/things to do, you might want to say a little bit about what your interests are. Just sayin'.

Are you at the Les Roches hotel school?

Nope. Are you there?

Hello!!

I'm not sure if you are still looking for expats/ company but my name is Francesca.

I'm 22 and I come from England. I have just moved to Crans Montana and I'm looking for some social clubs/groups and some young people to socialise with.

If you have any advice or are able to help in any way, I would be so grateful!

Thanks so much!

Francesca

Moving and plugging in is hard -- maybe you should post some more info for people to get to know you here? Good luck!

One can see this on somebody's profile page, if somebody is last seen a long time ago it is highly unlikely they'll be reached through this forum.

Thank you happyforsummer!

Check out the Meet-up app and download that for groups meeting up in this area. I live in.Bluche just 5 minutes drive away. Also go to the tourism office in Crans and the one in Montana and get info on Unipop they offer French classes which I am attending. There are courses for different levels at different times of the day so also check the Unipop website. Also Sierre is not far away by bus and Sion is a bit further. You don’t mention what you are doing in Crans-Montana, at home, working?? And your age group too. There is plenty to do but the trick is to reach out and start by doing some classes in something that interests you. I’m over 50(!) but always up for a coffee and a chat and dog walk so if you’d like to meet-up send me a message

Hello there,

Do you still live in Crans Montana area? I have recently just moved here and wondered if you could give any advice on social groups etc.

Thanks so much,

Sara

Hi Sara, sadly just left. Miss it! I’d recommend the Meetup group (download meetup app) Valais English Group run by Anyes. It’s brilliant. Also the French lessons provided by the commune, Zoe was my teacher and she is absolutely wonderful. Enjoy the life there, I am very envious!!
