Limmatschwimmen 2013

OK... who bought all the tickets???

This year's Limmat Swim is due to take place this Saturday (weather permitting). Tickets went on sale this morning at 0900 and by all accounts they were sold out within 2 hours. I tried unsuccessfully to get tickets through starticket.ch but their website decided to make an untimely crash and by the time I got the HB to buy tickets directly at 1100, they were all gone.

If you suddenly have a change of heart and want to get rid of your tickets, do PM me!

So what is the purpose of my thread???

1) Gloating for those lucky ones that got tickets

and

2) Entertaining suggestions sought for an alternative Saturday out and about. The more ridiculous the better

2 hours? More like 20 minutes....

Disappointing, but I'll just go to Unterer Letten instead and buy myself a 20 chf ice cream from Mövenpick or something

Is it just a river swim like the one in Basel yesterday? How come you have to pay? Can't you just get in the river?

Yeah, pretty much. I know, it's quite absurd really.

Apparently last year the police were there watching for people jumping off bridges and hauling out the 'Schwarzschwimmer' they spotted. Not sure if it's true, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Er, it's Zürich. If it was free nobody would think it was any good.

I used to swim miles and relays races on the lakes in RSA. I can easily eat that distance but prefer Friday afternoon swimming in the azure blue pool 40 laps and no crowds. Btw entrance fee for swimming pool is CHF6 only and entry fee for this competition is CHF13
