Hello
I am making the list of the goods I want to bring with us in Switzerland. My house is full of boxes and I am concern I will forgot to write on the list something. We're not going to ship everything in one transport.
Do you know how a customs check goes?
Do I have to make that list very precise?
To optimize the space we put things combined in boxes but on the list are separate types. I hope this will not be an issue.
Are you using a moving company or doing the move yourself?
The moving company did our list and it was very loose - thinks like "kitchenware" not "glasses, plates, pots" or "linen" not "towels, bedsheets" etc. So it does not have to be very precise except if it's a good that may be inspected/attract attention - for example when moving to Singapore we had kids DVDs and had to list ever single one of them. So don't worry too much.
The list doesn't have to be very precise, but note that you do have to declare everything in one go, even if the goods will arrive in multiple shipments (e.g. the goods you bring with you when you fly and the household goods arriving later by ship/truck/train). Essentially, the process is that you declare everything to customs when the first shipment of household goods crosses the border and then provide copies of the paperwork for customs to inspect at the border crossing for every subsequent shipment. This is the link found on the government website.

The 18.44 form includes instructions which will answer some of your questions.
Good luck with your move!
we will transport our personal goods with our van so that's why I am concern.
I downloaded the model list for relocation goods but I do have stuff that are not on that list. Do I have to add them??...I mean like Clothing and footwear, purses and handbags, cosmetics and drugs( as in meds ).
What structure should the inventory list of the household effects have and what details should it contain?
The inventory list may be drawn up on a blank sheet of paper, mentioning for example xx boxes of books, xx boxes of clothes and xx boxes of dishes.
Bulkier articles such as furniture, objects of value, big appliances, etc., or articles subject to restrictions such as alcoholic beverages, weapons, etc., are to be listed individually and in detail.
The goods for which the tax exemption conditions are not met (e.g. a purchase made less than six (6) months before the transfer of domicile) must be indicated at the bottom of the list under the heading "Goods to be taxed" indicating the value; providing purchase receipts facilitates taxation.

And also this list, which explains were you should be more detailed: https://www.bazg.admin.ch/dam/bazg/e...ationgoods.pdf
thank you !
I did filled in the 18,44 form but I have some worries about the List of relocation goods that i need to complete.
It makes it much easier if everything is moved in one go, on same day, in same transport.
unfortunately I can't do that!
Honestly don't worry too much, make it a broad list.
How many trips are you expecting? Just make it clear to the customs and will be fine.
