Hope to hear from some of you with any suggestions.
Hello, I'm not new to Switzerland, have been based in Geneva since 1991, but have recently reorganized things personally and am spending most of my time in Switzerland at my place in Crans-Montana and have let my flat go in Geneva. Have been coming to Crans for about ten years, but the truth is, with travel, work and all, have not really built up a social life and acquaintances here. So I am wondering, is there a community of expats living/socializing here somewhat all year around? I would be interested in reaching out to others if there is such a community here.
Welcome to the forum! Hopefully you'll find some useful information via the search button at the top right of the page. If not, please feel free to post a query or invitation to get together!
There is quite a large ex-pat community around you and at least 1,200 English speakers within 20km, most within 5km all year round, including me and a couple of others on here. Welcome.
Thanks babuyagu, that sounds larger than I would have expected. What is it centered around or how did you find it?
Have PM'd you.
Hi, I would also like to find out a bit more information re english ex-pat community in and around Crans-Montana. I have an apartment in Crans which I visit all to infrequently..and my French is basic in the extreme. It would be great to meet a few other English property owners and exchange some information. For example at the moment I am struggling with the tax system, need a fridge replacing and have some large items of furniture disposing off..all fairly trivial..but seem to be intractable at the moment!

Oh all your posts from 2010-th ! , i didn't notice , probably no one speaking English or crans left since )
There are definitely English-speaking residents there, although I don't know any personally. We were looking in that area before we bought our place in Morgins, and I also know from previous skiing-related activities that there are quite a few Brits with holiday homes there.
