living in zug

HI everybody,

I`m in zug since january but only now i managed to get a flat here (and not even immediately!!!!) but anyway.. not considering that i speak pratically no german, the rest seems to be nice.

Ah.. by the way.. I`m italian.. now.. can somebody help me suggesting a shop where i can buy forniture? the most of you will say IKEA.. well.. if possible i would like to see something different than that...without, at the same time, paying lots of money. what do u think?

Welcome to EF and to Switzerland! I can name a few good furniture stores but don't really know whether they are good price weis - that's a matter for everyone's personal wallet! Möbel Hübacher at Rothrist, Ulrich in Sursee, Pfister and Interio which are everywhere are all fairly good standard stores. A bit more expensive than Ikea but a bit better, too. Have fun shopping!

Hi Mou, welcome to the forum. If you use the search function you will find a few threads already exist giving advice on where to buy furniture. This part of the forum is really just for introducing yourself & not for asking questions. Cheers.

Hi Mou,

Welcome to the forum and Zug. There are a few places to buy furniture around Zug. Try Zugerland - either MiCasa (Migros) or Coop's Bau & Hobby. They have similar to Ikea furniture but better quality but expect to wait for delivery as you have to order. If you have transport then the Emmen Centre is supposed to be a good place to look around. I bought most of my furniture from the Brokenhaus and by looking at the adverts in the Migros and Coop shops! I haven't tried them but there are a couple of Scandinavian furniture shops on Baarerstrasse/Zugerstrasse on the main road towards Baar and there is an expensive furniture shop in Baar on Dorfstrasse.

We have a few events happening in Zug so why not join us for drinks or a photography walk :-)

No need to be shy. Another Italian girl is coming along to the photography walk (she hasn't worked out how to sign up either but she is coming on May 10th at 2pm).

If you go to Emmen Center, there are about 4-5 furniture stores in

the same building. TopTip, Pfister, Interio, Conforama, and maybe one

more.

There is also a Jysk between Baar and Zug that has some decent things.
