does anybody know where i can find Löffelbiskuits (ladyfingers) for tiramisu??!!
I searched coop but didn't find anything
I'm thinking you need to start visiting a MUCH larger Coop or else start doing your shopping online via Coop@Home and having it delivered.
On the Coop@Home website, I see they have "Coop Lady Fingers"
as well as "Cantreau Boudoirs" which are described as original französische Löffelbiscuits
I'm thinking that it's probable that the problem you're having finding things is that your "local" Coop is either small OR you are looking for things that they don't happen to stock due to lack of popularity in your specific area. So, the Coop@Home is probably a good idea for you as then you can see the entire range instead of just what gets stocked in the store you visit regularly.
To see the selection of cookies (aka "biscuits") go to "Supermarket" then "Food Cupboard" then "Biscuits" and then "Biscuits" again.
I hope that helps!
Did you get your lady fingers or not?
You had time to come here today and do this:
But
You had no time to post whether you got them - or whether anything anyone posted was helpful in your view?
Okra or Ladies Finger Curry (Bhindi Curry)
Fried Okra Curry image based on Rovingl About Bhindi Curry Bhindi curry is classic Indian curry made from okra. Okra is often known as ladies finger in India. Ingredients 1 lb okra
1 big tomato, diced
2 medium onions, diced
4 green chilies, chopped (adjust according to taste)
1⁄4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/3 teaspoon cumin powder
2/3 teaspoon garam masala
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 bunch of cilantro or coriander leaves
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1⁄2 teaspoon salt or salt to taste
Preparation Discard the ends of okra by cutting it off. Cut remaining okra into around 1 inch piece sizes. Heat the oil in pan in medium heat. Lower the heat. Carefully add onions, green chilies, spices and salt. Increase heat to medium. Stir-fry until onions are light golden brown. Add okra and stir-fry for around 15 minutes in a medium heat. 6 Add tomato, sprinkle the lemon juice and mix well for few minutes. 7 Sprinkle cilantro or coriander leaves as decoration and serve hot with rice or roti.
Never seen any at COOP though.
they have it in indian grocery stores, or at 10x the price in Globus
its just that the EF is not someone's personal search engine. Some folks beleive that they have a family of elves whose only goal in life is to provide them with answers.
If you want to get a loan for property here, wouldnt you go to the nearest Bank and not the EF?
How about asking at Coop for a pack Löffelbiskuit, before rushing to the forum, and posting a thread
I tend to be sympathetic because I was certainly not confident enough to ask anything in the local shops for a long time and my hubby doesn't care so 1. doesn't know and / or 2. doesn't bother to look / help me look nine times out of ten. So, for me, EF IS the "go to" ... but then again, I don't do anything so complicated as doing / asking about bank loans anyhow.
Notice that?
Naw...
(Thanks for the thanks'!!)
LOL. On a different note, I know where to find okra (not canned, fresh ones), if anyone has been looking.
Its available at Barkat in Schmiede Wiedikon. I usually use it for fish curry. I've attached a shot of the fish curry and you can find the recipe here. http://food.ninemsn.com.au/recipes/i...omato-and-okra
p/s sorry I derailed from the topic! The Okra recipe Odile posted looks so yum it threw me off!
and in the Italian part Savoiardi/Savoiardo.
Tiramisu is and will always be one of my favourite desserts! What else can you use them for?
