If you want the furniture right away, some stores do sell floor models at greatly reduced prices. Be careful about warranty issues as sometimes this is very different to new merchandise.
Sometimes they have inventory in stock. At Pfister, for example, they make a distinction between what is on hand and what you need to order.

It might not be your thing but the advantage in buying second hand furniture is that often it is available right away. However, in most cases you need to arrange your own transport, which can be the challenge. Most private sellers won't deliver.
