Looking for a postcode aerial map of Zürich

I'm trying to find a nice and clear map of Zürich postcodes. I've found this map which seems quite popular although is'nt as clear as i'd like it to be. I was hoping to find an aerial view of the postcodes, and possibly to zoom in.

I thought that Google Earth could do this, but it does'nt appear so.

The kantonal GIS (Geographical Information System) browser at http://www.gis.zh.ch/gb/gb.asp?app=admin will show postcodes anywhere in Kanton Zurich.

You don't get as good an overview as with the PDF you linked to, but with the GIS you can zoom in to house level. Click on the "i" icon top left and then on any point on the map to get that place's postcode.

Other GIS datasets can be viewed at http://www.giszh.zh.ch/internet/bd/a...s_browser.html . They've got more geographical info about the kanton than you could possibly imagine.

Not sure where this fits, but I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how the postal codes work within the Zurich area?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postal_code_(Switzerland ) tries to answer (there is one paragraph about Zurich), but it doesn't quite make sense: the Kreis run from 1 to 12, and then there is a 8048 but no 8012 post code for instance...

It would help in order to quickly locate areas around Zurich when looking for an apartment.

There is somewhat of a system. The codes 8001-8012 are all part of their respective Kreis area.

You can also search for post codes on map.search.ch .

Does UBS have its own postcode? All of their correspondence seems to be from 8098 Zurich...

I've just discovered an informative article about the Swiss post code history here . You are right, some post codes are not geographically, but only logistically defined. Like 8098 Zurich (UBS) and 8759 Netstal (PostFinance).

Also, a precise post code map of Zurich is available here . Check the box at Themen Stadteinteilung PLZ and refresh the map by clicking "Karte aktualisieren".
