Would like to get some architect recommendations in and around the Lausanne area to inspect an old house that's up for sale, plus an estimate of how much it would cost to do some renovation works in case we go for it.
Have heard so many horror stories related to architects hence would appreciate any local recommendations if you have already done some small renovations and had good experiences.
Depending on what you are looking for, I know very well an architect in Lausanne who is semi-retired. He still does some projects (house extensions, renovations etc.) and legal expert reviews (mandated by judges) when there are situations where someone is being sued by someone else for issues relating to building/renovations projects. This can be the property owner suing an architect or a supplier, or vis-versa.
The second is a review of the electrical system that must be done by a "controller" who is a bit like a super electrician. It is called "Contrôle électrique OIBT". It must be done when selling a house if the current report is more than 5 years old.
We have recently completed the purchase nearby Lausanne of a property that needs a full reno. Let me know if you have any questions, we are currently in the process of selecting our architect.
I don't think you need an architect for your estimation pre-purchase (they normally charge for making a detailed devis as well). Do you know any Maître de Chantier? Or even anyone who has a lot of experience with renovations? I would suggest to be really careful taking an architect onboard at this stage.
