Looking for good source for investing info

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a good source of information on how to invest in Switzerland.

I am somewhat familiar with the investing options available in my home country in large part thanks to websites and on-line newspaper articles on the subject. For instance, the Globe and Mail (Canadian newspaper) has a series of very useful articles on investing for retirement, for new home, for young families; types of funds and accounts available; fees and how to avoid them, how to find a financial planner, etc. Now that I'm in Switzerland though, I feel somewhat lost on the subject since the system is naturally different here.

Does anyone know of a good website, online newspaper, etc. that provides handy information regarding investing in Switzerland? I'm not looking for anything too complicated - suitable for someone with beginner to intermediate knowledge.

Many thanks in advance for your suggestions!

There are discussion on the EF going on and there used to be similar ones last year e.g.

Planning for retirement

2009: Where to invest ? ?

IMHO, I would not expect much to be found on the public discussion forum as if people even know-how and where they would not share it openly The best bet is if you go to one of the local banks and make an appointment with financial advisor/broker who should be able to provide you with more infromation.

I have trusted the banks with investing my money over the past decade, and they have lost about 50% of it, while paying themselves stupid amounts of money as bonuses.

I would not ask the banks personally for investment advice...

Well, then hire a broker or play national lottery, even better go to casino (I think the nearest is in Baden)

There is a casino in Zug which is not far. You might have more success playing the national lottery then trusting the banks to invest your money.

Thanks for...uh... most of your suggestions .

I'm not really looking for specific advice on where to invest and how to make scads of cash. Rather I'm looking for "background educational info", if that makes sense. Things like what is a 3rd pillar and how can I pay for my first home. I guess I'm looking for something similar to a newspaper regular feature on all things finance and investing - particularly but not exclusively in a Swiss context - that is directed to people who do not have tons of experience in the matter but who want to slowly but surely build their knowledge base. But perhaps such a thing doesn't exist here. I've tried to google sites in English, French and my not so good German but to no avail.
