Looking for someone to install Washing machine

I would like to get a washer dryer in my new apartment and I need some help

And advice with the installation.

I have a space in the bathroom next to the tub where I would ideally like this. Someone suggested it’s not safe to have electrics that close to the tub but I need someone who knows to have a look. The electrics aren’t exactly next to the tub so I reckon it should be ok but I don’t really know!

Alternatively there’s a space in the kitchen too.

Any recommendations for someone who can check and install would be great!

Thanks

Do you already have an electrical socket in the bathroom, somewhere vaguely near the tub? What do you mean by "electrics": a power socket, or an electronic machine such as a washing machine? It's completely normal and standard to have a power supply somewhere near a bathtub or laundry tub; thousands/millions of people have washing machines in this situation. The issue is minimising the possibility of a connected electric appliance falling into a full bath. Your washing machine is unlikely to do that.

If you're renting, you probably won't be permitted to install a new power socket. If you have one already (or you're happy to use an extension cable from a power socket outside the room), just go ahead and install the machine. It really is dead simple:

1. Put machine in room near water supply and drain (tub)

2. Attach hose(s) to water supply

3. Put drainage pipe in tub

4. Plug in to power supply

5. Wash away

When you've finished, remove the drainage pipe from the tub and unplug the machine (if you use the socket for any other appliances and/or want to feel totally safe). Repeat steps 3–5 next time you want to wash.

You really don't need to pay a tradesman, unless you need a power socket installed.

You also need to check with your landlord/agency that you can have a washer/dryer installed in the apartment.

Thanks! Guess I just needed some reassurance!

Seems safe enough to me but was getting mixed reviews!

There already is an electric socket in the bathroom so I reckon this isn’t an issue.

Yes this part is OK!

Not sure if it's exactly his business area but on this forum you might ask Confloozed

I disagree - how is this simple (if you don't know what you are doing)?

I’m just glad it seems simple enough for someone who knows what they are doing. Now I need to find that someone!!
