Looking for specific shelf pegs

Hi there,
I’m renting an old apartment and the closets have got some non-standard shelf pegs (in German: Regal Bodenträger).
The holes in the closet, in which they’re supposed to go in, are 5mm in size and are square.
I’ve already searched in Landi and OBI and there was nothing appropriate there.

An internet search is kinda tricky, as I can’t phrase the search terms clearly- it keeps finding shelf pegs with a square area where it meets the shelf, but intended for a round hole.

Has anyone seen such a shelf peg anywhere in Switzerland or online?

Thanks in advance :slightly_smiling_face:

probably proudly made by a local carpenter… a photo would help…

Thanks!
I’m not much of a hand model, but I hope the photo clarifies it a little.
Even if it’s a local carpenter, the plastic pegs seem to be some kind of shelf (pun not intended) product.

If you make a better photo (without a hand and against a background of a different colour), Google Lens might be able to recognise this part and give you a hint.

geee…old as it gets! you could buy this (obviously, of the appropiate size) Body Anchor / Expansion Nut 9/9 x 10 mm Plastic | mofakult or Premium Grade 1/2 Inch Extra Durable Plastic End Plug, for 16-18 Gauge Square Tubing - 10 Pack - Floor Protectors and then screw easily one of these Universal Eckverbinder, weiss 23x23x24 mm, 20 Stück - HORNBACH or these Hettich Regalbodentrger mit Nagel 12 Stck - kaufen bei Galaxus

or more simply, use epoxy, plug the whole and inset a round modern one. It will hold…forever.

this one looks “modded” standard one, the part of the left side chopped off, there should be a round peg stretching upward

Yes. I have pegs of a similar design in my oven. They are being held in the square hole thanks to that missing part that looks up.

Hi Folks,

Thanks a lot for your answers.

I’d like to update that the manufacturer of these kitchens is Forster kitchen systems.
They’re no longer manufacturing those square pegs.
However they say it’s possible to use round pegs as long as they’re exactly 4.2mm in size.
And it’s possible to get their service to install these alternative pegs.
…which I am planning to do.
