Hello there I've been living in Zurich for 8 months now. I love life here but it would be great to meet new people, so far I'm mainly going out with people from work but it would be great to meet new people outside of the office. I'm female, 33 from the UK.

Zurich is a great place, and you can meet people easily. You just must not expect people to come to you, as this will not happen. You have to take the initiative.
Just go on www.meetup.com , enter your interest and check out what activities are on. You will find activities in all areas: drinks, hiking, trying restaurant, movies, classical music, other concerts etc. There is something every day, all there is left is for you to actually go. People are welcoming and friendly, and it is your choice to stay in touch.
Well, there's a pub quiz every other week at the St. Joseph's Pub out at the Quellenstrasse. I'm usually there with some friends. Seems like a great place to meet people, because, well, I have met quite some great people there.
same as above, have only been out socialising with 2 different people since my arrival here, a work colleague and an ex work colleague, am here and about all month wit hno social plans at all, if you fancy a drink and a chat over the weekend get in touch. Did try it once on my own, not good....

Its the first time ive been on here. Did you manage to meet up? My husband is seconded over here and Im currently not working so wondered if anyone wanted to meet up as I dont yet know anyone and even though Im taking a German course, it would be good to meet some English speaking people for a chat and see how you are finding Zurich.
