Hello,
I would like to get Swiss driver license but unluckily, I lost my US driver license when I moved here. I came to the office and asked the procedure. They told me I need to have driving records (I know how to request) and an attestation of my driver license. Does anyone know how to request it from DMV? Does anyone have a sample of this?
Thank you for your help.
Might be helpful to know what state. And what do you mean by you "lost" it? Was it revoked or simply misplaced?
I lived in Minnesota. My driver license was misplaced.
Had similar situation a few years back.
I am from NY. Basically I went to NYS DMV website and was able to have a re-issue electronically. As I was not livng in NYS anymore, nor my parents, I had it sent to a friends flat, who then sent it to me via mail.
I am sure your State offers similar services electronically. I had my previous licenses to prove I had my license for many years.
Good luck, but just order new license. No problem with conversion in Canton Vaud.
Take a look at this page from the Minnesota DMV. Looks like it might work for you:

One of the key things about swapping a U.S. license for a Swiss one is how long you've had the license. Normally they just look at the issue date and if it is more than 3 years ago you are fine (not provisional). However in your case the issue date will be very recent, so you will need your driving history from MN to prove you've been driving longer. Info on the same site, I presume.
HTH.
My problem is that I am no longer a MN resident, so they do not replace my lost driver license. The only thing they offered is my driving records. However, the officers told me that I need driving records and the ATTESTATION of my driver license. I don't know what the attestation means?
In this case, some statement proving that you had a driver's license, which is different I think, from the actual driving record. Can MN not send a statement to that effect?
