Lugano - Here I come!

Moving back to Lugano in two weeks! Although I grew up in Zug, I moved to the US to learn English when I was 23. A nine month language trip turned into nearly 30 years.

In 2015 I had enough of the congested SF Bay Area traffic and ridiculous real estate prices, so I decided to travel through France visiting castles and cathedrals and loved it so much that I stayed for a year. But now it's time to move closer to aging parents...

While the current craziness of many US regions is nothing to be missed, there are plenty of things I do miss dearly. Friends and family. The California sun. Fast internet and cheap electronics. Loooong road trips through wide open spaces. Oak trees. Sedona mountains. Speaking (American) English and the overall friendliness of Americans.

Now it's time to fall in love with Switzerland and all its beauty (and buenzli-ness) once again.

I look forward to meeting fellow Americans living in the Ticino region. If you want to connect, go for hikes, send me a note.

Happy travels everyone.

Welcome to the Forum.

As you have travelled around quite a bit, you are probably not looking at things through deep-rose-tinted spectacles, but I'd go easy on the idea of 'moving back' if I were you.

You've changed and so has everyone and everywhere else. We don't 'move back' as much as 'move on'.

Hope the transision goes smoothly.

Well said. Thank you for the welcome.
