Lugano See

I abhor the thought of paying more than one third of a wage for accommodation, that is the way it should be.
This place I have now was supposed to be only until I found something more permanent after coming back from Malta, however it is five minutes from the Autobahn, as a technician driving all over Bavaria it was perfect, five minutes from the Ammersee, 45 minutes from the grandkids, an hour on the bike to the mountains and it was affordable.
It wasn’t much and I have to go through the landlords house to my room but it isn’t a problem.
Looking at a place in Kaufering right now @ 780€’s, not my first choice and over 500 other applicants but… Hey, amma feeling lucky.

Speaking about min and max spread in Switzerland, the min I’ve paid for a studio was 450 chf (lived there 6 years), the max for a studio 1850 chf… now I would like to settle on something up to 1k in SZ just for the bills/tax, and live somewhere up to to additional 2k, that would be the sweat spot. 1k in SZ is doable, but I don’t know how to manage it so everybody’s nose stays away from my business (no complaints that I’m not living there, no complaints that I’m living elsewhere (unofficially))

I spent a day exploring the area around Lugano. I had a macchiato Latte in Carona at the post office/grocery shop/cafe for CHF 3 and a Carona anise cookie for CHF 2. It was delightful and the locals were out and about.

I had a delightful lunch at a small Melide restaurant located on the lake right after the Swiss Miniature. I can’t find it on the map but the locals were there enjoying a coffee and a chat.

As I was riding my bike, I saw my tire was low so I stopped in at Dream Bike in Lugano, where they pumped the tire at no charge (I gave them a nice tip.)

Lugano was full on with tourists today but I met so many friendly people. And that is priceless.
