By the way, amma heading out to Porlezza on the Luganosee tomorrow for a few days, so if anybody is nearby and gasping for a beer let me Know.
no such thing as the Luganosee.
Luganer See then you Pea counter.
Itâs Luganersee actually.
I only referred to it because basically minutes after someone on an other thread complained about you using German all the time you did it again.
However, Molto divertirsi sul lago di Lugano
Well that is annoying.
The place where I normally go and pay 60 Euros a night now wants 380 Euros for three nights. Not going to happen by the way.
The next one, a two star hotel is asking for 420 Euros and the third one where I enquired wanted e mail address and promised to send a quote in the next ten minutes, that was two hours ago.
And then you hear from the industry that nobody wants to stay at their hotels anymore.
Golly gee, I wonder why?
Wow! Didnât know Ticino suffers from this horrendous inflation.
Leaves one question: How many decades ago did you pay Fr. 60.00/night there?
It´t the Italian part at Porlezza and that would be out of season last autumn.
Just got a quote for 100 Euros a night at a nice little hotel. Sod it! Going to take that.
It just bugs me when you can no longer afford the get away weekend, when the three day junket costs more than I am comfortable with paying, it sucks all the fun out of a trip and I spend more time griping over prices than enjoying the break.
The latter is entirely up to you.
Once youâve decided you want to do this you take your mind of the money side and fully enjoy it. In fact on top of the nice time you enjoy the fact that youâre able to do it!
If you plan to ruin it by griping over the prices, you might as well stay at home and have a few extra drinks at your Stammtisch (regularâs table for those who forgot) instead.
That is exactly what I usually do.
Which bit, the taking your mind off money and enjoy or staying home and have extra drinks?
Taking a bike ride there? That in itself is worth it, no?
Just arrived, 21deg and as usual the view of lake from this area is spectacular.
T-shirt on and now for Italien red and pizza.
Got the car because it was pouring down when I set off.
TMI (Abcdef)
.
Inflation in EU zone is crazy. Everything used to be cheap, and suddenly everything cost like in Switzerland PS. Iâm currently abroad (not enjoying the prices)
I would not call it cheap, well perhaps for someone earning Swiss wages, but it was affordable.
I have to look for new digs as my Landlord has invoked âEigenbedarfâ or âhe needs it for one of his kids.â
A one to two room flat and you are looking at just shy of a thousand âŹâa snd this is out in the boonies, closer to civilisation and prepare to cough up anywhere between 1200 and 1600 âŹâa, even saw a one and a half for 2200âŹâs!
youâre really unlucky, arenât you. I seem to remember you had the same problem a while ago, living in an attic-room which got really hot in summer?
Life treats Slammer in mysterious ways.
youâre not alone with that.
But maybe there is a mistake you keep repeating when chosing the place to live?
A beer at a lake and a lovely view is a good place to ponder that before going back to house-hunting.
The last times that we visited Ticino, wwe found reasonably priced accommodation in a Tertianum. Well, you have to share breakfast room with old people who insist on thinking that you are part of the staff and ask you for their coffee (I found it funny, and it was even funnier when I prepared the coffee in the machine for them, and I insisted in speaking my Italiano brutiiiiisimo with them :-D)
