Lugano - Things to see and maybe a nice restaurant?

Hi, going down to Lugano just for an overnight trip. If anyone knows a nice restaurant a couple could go to, one maybe good for a vegetarian, would be great to hear.

Thanks in advance

Hello, you might try Osteria Calprino. I'm a vegetarian and ate there last summer during a visit to Lugano. I remember eating a really lovely pasta dish there, something very simple. I don't think they have a huge vegetarian selection but if you just want a simple, well-executed pasta dish this is a good place for it. Also, their desserts were wonderful!

Il bello Ticino!

Thanks for the tips guys, not completely unprepared now. Appreciate it.

Boat ride on the lake. It's a little cool still right now but still good.

Take the funiculore up to Bre and hike up to the top of Monte Boglia.

I know they aren't restaurants but you should have some fun too. :-)

The cablecar up to Monte San Salvatore is very enjoyable as well.

How strict are your dietary requirements?

Vegetarians can have problms down here, as it's pretty much meat country.

However...

the Buffet della Stazione *in* the train station itself is worth a try, as well as the Ristorante Parco Ciani, down in the park by the lake.

The "Perla la Lago" above the Casino also has international cuisine (i.e. possibly vegetarian dishes).

Ciao

Paul

Thanks, not too strict but my girlfriend is a veggie so a meat lovers restaurant probly won't delight her too much. As long as there's some good veggie options and not just the salad option that's cool. I know what you mean about the restaurants being more into meat, we usually go to a thai or italian cos they're the best option.

thanks, that sounds nice, how long does that take though do you know? Just heading down overnight so only have one afternoon really?
