We are intending to leave around 10h and will either be going via Neuchatel (A1 A5/A1) or Bern (A1)
I’m looking for a nice place to stop and have lunch, either along lake Neuchatel, Beilersee or somewhere around Bern. Looking for a place a little special or out of the ordinary. Of course I can google it, I already have with uninspiring results*. I was hoping I could get a recommendation from an EFer for something nice.

*Why is it, that when I search I rarely get what I’m looking for, but something somebody else wants me to see. I don’t trust tripadvisor et al.

For Bienne there’s a nice place on the lakeside but the name has escaped me, begins with R and in the town we like the Perroquet vert.
There’s also the Jean Jacques Rousseau in La Neuveville which is between the two which is very nice.
Restaurant O'Lé in La Neuveville is also nice, and their catch phrase for lunch is "Moins de 20 CHF en moins de 20 min" if that helps.
I always travel to Zurich via Lake Neuchatel as there is way less traffic, but if you have extra time the views from the motorway above Lavaux are spectacular, especially driving in that direction. So if you want to impress your guests I'd take the extra time to head to Vevey along the lake and then north towards Bern.
No good suggestions for eating, however. There is a cute crêperie in Rue, Terre et Mer , and Rue itself is a really cute village! But it's a bit out of the way, and also early into your journey.
If you do go up the east side of Lake Neûchatel Estavayer-le-Lac is right off the motorway and it's a pretty neat town to walk around. I can image there are some nice restos there as well. The problem with the west side of Lake Neuch is that it's not motorway the whole way, which slows you down a lot, and it's not all that pretty going through Biel.
