Lunch in Winterthur

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a healthy warm lunch in Winterthur? I know of the Axa canteen near the Lokstadt but that is a little bit far for me as I work on the other side of the Bahnhof. My work collegues tend to prefer Coop which I find rather tasteless and fattening.

The salads at Jack & Jo at the Train Station are good but pricey. Otherwise there is a Axa Kantine next to Migros Neuwiesen and there is also one at the Superblock. Not sure if they all have the same offers. At Manta (in the post Office next to the Train Station) you can also get Pasta. They have good offers to go (CHF 11.- for the Pasta I recall). Not sure if that Counts as healthy. There is a Thai at the Wartstrasse or one one the market square (Neumarkt). You might have to shop around a Little to see if there is anything you like.

If you have a bit more time, there are street food options at Markthalle 41 (Lokstadt).

I believe the Indian restaurants by the Bahnhof also do lunch time menu but these might potentially fall under tasty and super fattening option...

If you're a fan of vegetarian food, there's also a Tibits at the Marktgasse in the Old town (5-7 minute walk from the HB).

Or if you're into ethnic food, the best Indian is Tandoor at Wülflingenstrasse (the Indian restaurants close to the HB are useless but the Thai at Wartstrasse is pretty good though).

For Italian food, I cannot praise Buon Gusto at Wülflingerstrasse enough, even though it is quite pricey (a la carte, never had lunch there but at least dinners are delicious).

Jack & Jo is good but pricey compared to what you actually get - you do pay for the convenient location, IMHO.

There's an Argentinian steakhouse right at the HB as well, never tried it though but they seems to be heavily into steaks.

That's all that comes to mind. Good luck!

Good luck!
