Here's everything I know - I guess the last point is something most people don't know (STK-implementation, or how to get Roaming to work).
Always looking for updates if anyone knows something more:

minimum one call or SMS per 5 months should keep the card alive after this, there's a grace period of 30 days within which the card needs to be topped up subsequently the number is deactivated and lost via *139*9999# any SIM can be kept alive for 1 year; costs CHF 5/year (I ́m not sure if this is charged once ordered, or only charged if the card would've otherwise been cancelled?!)

If Roaming doesn't work (strangely enough this isn't anywhere in Lycamobile's instructions) :
There's a STK "SIM-Tool-Kit" on the SIM-card. all phones have different implementations to these functions, so you'll have to try a bit. Look for STK / SIM-Tools / SimToolKit or similar Once you find it, there is one option "Lycamobile" - chose it Within in, you'll find "select mode" and "select language" Within "select mode" you'll see "automatic" and "manual" "Automatic" is pre-selected. On most phone this should work, but if your Roaming doesn't work, you'll have to chose "manual". Within Manual, you'll see "Roaming", "Swiss", and possibly some other countries names. They get automatically added as you travel to some countries, so impossible to be exact here. You can now switch to the country-name in which you want to roam, or the "roaming" profile for countries which don't appear in the list. With some phones, the phone crashes once you select a new country. No reason for panick - just re-boot, and the new setting will take effect. Once you change the setting, internet-access details have to be re-entered, but only once per country. That's because what you do here is effectively entering a new SIM-card into the phone!
