Lycamobile 'User Manual'

I put together a list of all functions, except bookable packages. Those keep changing anyway, so better to look them up on the website as you go along.

Here's everything I know - I guess the last point is something most people don't know (STK-implementation, or how to get Roaming to work).

Always looking for updates if anyone knows something more:

Validity:

minimum one call or SMS per 5 months should keep the card alive after this, there's a grace period of 30 days within which the card needs to be topped up subsequently the number is deactivated and lost via *139*9999# any SIM can be kept alive for 1 year; costs CHF 5/year (I ́m not sure if this is charged once ordered, or only charged if the card would've otherwise been cancelled?!)

are quite simply not possible!

If Roaming doesn't work (strangely enough this isn't anywhere in Lycamobile's instructions) :

There's a STK "SIM-Tool-Kit" on the SIM-card. all phones have different implementations to these functions, so you'll have to try a bit. Look for STK / SIM-Tools / SimToolKit or similar Once you find it, there is one option "Lycamobile" - chose it Within in, you'll find "select mode" and "select language" Within "select mode" you'll see "automatic" and "manual" "Automatic" is pre-selected. On most phone this should work, but if your Roaming doesn't work, you'll have to chose "manual". Within Manual, you'll see "Roaming", "Swiss", and possibly some other countries names. They get automatically added as you travel to some countries, so impossible to be exact here. You can now switch to the country-name in which you want to roam, or the "roaming" profile for countries which don't appear in the list. With some phones, the phone crashes once you select a new country. No reason for panick - just re-boot, and the new setting will take effect. Once you change the setting, internet-access details have to be re-entered, but only once per country. That's because what you do here is effectively entering a new SIM-card into the phone!

Wish I could "edit" above post indefinitely:

Mailbox / Voicemail:

+41-77-9000121 deactivate: *185# ; confirm dialog with "1" (tested and works ) re-activate: 91# (no idea if this really works)

Bundles: Deactivate bundle auto-renewal: *199# The bundles may change, but this should always work.

I have a credit of CHF4.30 and I want to purchase a data packet (500MB surf S - CHF3.25) and it says that there's not enough. Anybody knows why?

Could be that the balance of the amount you paid in is less than CHF3.25, while the total with their bonuses for topping up is higher and they take the former...

Silly question about de-activation. Do they send a warning SMS or something like that, or does the card just go offline, losing the number?

Their FAQ state that you need to make a call every 5 months. I have received calls, even abroad, but thanks to this "Feel like home" I haven't paid a single Rappen since the card was activated.

Just want to avoid losing my number!

Just phone your house phone for 2 seconds, job done

I pay for data so I do pay.. But I think I'm still on the same topup i made last year!

I guess it does the job - what I really want to know: Will they send a reminder (SMS or the like) so I know when to do "the job", or could it happen that the phone just goes offline, and that's that?

In other words: Do I need to enter a reminder in my schedule, or will this be taken care of by itself?

it's probably that. Thanks...

What's about sim activation?

my phone says "your sim is not activated"

how much time it takes to activate the sim?

I sent the document via mail, then I went to a kiosk and they sent it via fax.

It's 5 days now, should I wait more?

No, phone them

My SIM was activated a few hours after after the Kiosk forwarded my documentation.

5 days is strange!

thanks, but usually how much time it takes?

How long is a piece of string?

Just call them.

Does someone have iphone with my same problem that is when I am abroad feel like home is not active?

Below my settings

The a STK "SIM-Tool-Kit" on the SIM-card is under Settings-->Phone-->Sim Applications --> Lycamobile

As connection mode I have selected Manual and when I am abroad the only options I see are Swiss, Austria and Roaming. All the time I select roaming "feel like home" has been never activated.
