I just read online that Maclaren (in the US) has issued a general recall of ALL the baby strollers.
The repair kit is a hinge cover.
No, it is NOT all baby strollers. " This recall involves all Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers. The word “Maclaren” is printed on the stroller. The affected models included Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller."
It seems the side hinge is the problem.
To my knowlegde and what products I find online, that IS all their models.
The Grand Tour LX does not seem to be affected by this. But then, with a price tag of $899. I should hope not!
Next the will be recalling all cars because kids can injure their fingers in the door if they stick them inside while you are closing it
This smells of a lawsuit type scenario. Maclaren sell buggies all over the world but other countries apart from the U.S. are not being offered a 'hinge cover' or are covered by this product recall.
Who on earth is folding up a buggy with their young children within arms reach?

Exactly my thought. We bought a Maclaren Techno Classic and used it for 4 years with 2 kids. It never occured to me that any such accident can happen.
And my kids are generally on the mischievous, headache-inducing ingenious side of the spectrum. I am thinking here stacking up boxes to climb out on the roof through a velux window sort of thing.
Ahahah I was thinking exactly the same when I read it this morning after a friend forwarded it!
This could happen with any buggy if you are silly enough to fold it or unfold it whilst you kids sticks its fingers in it
I LOVE my Techno XT, do not know what I would do without it and am for sure not stopping to use it... of course I pay attention that my daugther's fingers are in a safre place when I fold it or unfold it!

I heard on BBC Five live today MacLaren have advised that the recall only applies in the USA
exactly....is about the parents or the person who is responsible for the children, is about attention and can happen with any buggy or anything can be fold, unfold...what about umbrella's? how many people pay attention when opening umbrella? Im not mom but nanny...used Mclaren all the time single buggy and also double with twins....never had a problem!
