I would like to try making my own mayonnaise. I found this blender with an emulsifying disc and it states that it makes mayonnaise -

What's confusing me is that every mayonnaise recipe that I found says 'add the oil slowly', but this mini-blender does not seem to have a way to add oil during blending (unless it's through the tiny spout but that doesn't seem very likely...). Could a real cook help me if this blender really would be a good bet for making mayonnaise?
I've also learned to add the oil slowly, but recently I am making my own mayonnaise this way and it works perfecly:

Have seen this on TV, by a "reputable" (as tv-chefs go) chef.
Seems to work.
I never tried it, I rarely eat mayonnaise - much less the amount needed to make such a recipe worthwhile.
What do you need so much mayonnaise for, if I may ask?
I would assume, with the fresh egg, it won't last very long...
For me, it's for salads. It doesn't need to last long
I think the little spout is your answer. Personally, I'd just use a normal blender with a big open top.
I've got one of those, and it works fine, but generally a make a larger amount so use a normal food processor.
Mayonnaise will easily keep a few weeks (one week if you're paranoid).

No need for a fancy blender specifically to make mayonnaise!.....you can use any normal handheld blender (of course electric is best unless you really want a workout for your arm muscles!).
Yes, the trick to good mayonnaise is to add the oil slowly so that it all incorporates into one smooth substance.....start very slowly, but you can speed up as you go.
2 egg yolks 3/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon powdered mustard 1/8 teaspoon sugar Pinch cayenne pepper 4 to 5 teaspoons lemon juice or white vinegar 1-1/2 cups olive or other salad oil 4 teaspoons hot water 1 Apple Iphone Then just look this example and follow:
How do you make mayonnaise in a small blender? Just add all the ingredients straight away and blend, or add the oil slowly? Cannot really see how to add the oil slowly with a mini-blender.
As 3Wishes says, maybe it's best to just use a big blender with an open top. But I would like the small blender for something else - quick prep of avocado dips. So mayo making with it could be a bonus.
Looks interesting, what are the ingredients and quantities you use?
