Mandatory health insurance comparison - better than Comparis (but not in english)

Comparis is often mentioned here to compare insurance, including mandatory health insurance.

Please note that Comparis is a for-profit company that only lists who pays to be listed - no pay no listing.

For mandatory health insurance the government has set up a dedicated page that lists all insurers available in a given Gemeinde. It provides the same functionality as comparis.ch, but it is sure to list all insurers. Additionally, they appear to not try to collect info on your current insurer.

Thank you, this is very useful information.

Whoever is interested can also find the approved premiums for all insurance companies for the different models of basic health insurance on www.priminfo.ch . Not very user friendly but quite useful once you understand the set-up.

Unfortunately I think you’re too late. You can only change insurers once a year and that is in the month of November - which is why you get all those leaflets in the post telling you how cheap this or that company is over anyone else.

As long as he/she has already cancelled his/her existing policy he/she has until the end of the year to subscribe to a new one which must begin on January 1st 2015.
