Does anyone know where you can buy Marigold stock from. It's a Swiss made product which all the top cooks in the UK swear by - just cant seem to find it anywhere here!

Hmm it's used as a spice now? For dried marigold you can ask in pharmacies, especially Berg Apotheke near Stauffacher offers many herbs for cooking and healing. It's called Ringelblume in German and Calendula in Latin.
For entire plants, a flower shop should be able to help you.

it is great stock, but i've only purchased it in sainsbury's...alas have yet to see it in switzerland!
...which explains why I've made a fool of myself. I haven't seen this brand here either.
I'm a little bit mysticious!! (not a real word by the way) why is this, by all accounts, wonderful,perfect product (I looked it up), that is Swiss made, not available in Switzerland???

Actually, yes, I remember reading about Swiss Marigold vege stock cubes in an English cookbook before I moved here and looking forward to trying it. (OK, you've got to get your kicks where you can.) Crushed to find only Maggi and Knorr on the shelves.
Maybe britshop.ch could start carrying it.
Funny you should say that, I can only get Knorr lamb and Pork stock cubes in England.
I imagine IN Switzerland the product has a different brand name.
Check the health food stores. They have similar stock powders.
I THINK I've seen it in jelmoli but I may have been mistaken.
The veg. stock I bought in Coop looks pretty similar and I'm not sure I could tell the difference. I don't use the meat ones so I can't tell you about those.
Been making really nice vegetable soup recently with it, one of those packs of suppengemuse, a couple of tins of beans and some broccoli. Blend and throw in some grated cheese. Delicious.
Perhaps the same can be achieved by boiling rubber household gloves in water for an hour....

BTW standard Swiss Knorr stock cubes seem to be different and much better than the UK ones. Sort of revenge for Swiss tea (proper stuff not herbal) being made from the factory floor sweepings.

I think it is not a swiss product at all but from what I gathered researching an australian product using SWISS in the title.

On my travels i am across many products,for example chocolate with walnuts in sweden and it was tagged as swiss chocolate so having Swiss in the title does not necessarily mean it was produced here
Anyhoo, the best replacement for this brand in my opinion, would be a product from Morga,they are manufacturing organic and other health considering products.Their webpage is only partly available in english,but you'll find their goods in any healthfood store (Reformhaus,Drogerie) if you don't want to order online.

Where does it come from?
It’s made in Switzerland - per Quality Control System EN29001. And it meets the Food Standards for Great Britain and is EU accredited .
Sounds a bit to me like "Quality Control System EN29001" is running on a computer in a forgotten Swiss basement and the actual product is made who knows where.
I bought Marigold vegetable bouillon from Jelmoli a long while back, but I have not seen it on their shelves since. It's probably worth having another peek in there. In any event, the Knorr vegetable stock cubes or stock powder are pretty much the same (if not better)
opps i stand corrected, sorry for posting misinformation,but it does not actually say where it is made here and the name of the maker of it, this made me suspicious and made me guess that it is not a 100% swiss product.......or then it could be under another brand name ? Any ideas,it intrigues me and I want to look further into it!
Just found this website whilst looking for a hard to find product, they ship internationally and noticed they sell marigold stock amongst other things I have seen asked for on this site
Intrigued, as well. I've just checked the ingredients and compared to what I have in the kitchen (Migros' own fat-free brand of vegetable bouillon "Gemüse bouillon, fettfrei"). The ingredients are the same up to one of the herbs: in the Marigold brand there is "lovage" (= Liebstöckel) and in the Migros brand it's chervil (= Kerbel).
So, I expect what you are looking for is actually available in all shops - just get the "Gemüsebouillon" by Knorr, maggi or Migros. For organic versions, go to your local health food store (Reformhaus).
I think the main difference between Marigold and 'regular' stock powder/cubes you get in Coop or Migros is that there is no MSG, artificial colourings and preservatives in the former.

As well as the fact of much less fat and salt in general.
