Marriage B permit then moving to another Canton

Hello

I am from a non EU country and have been married to swiss girl .i applies for a permit but will I get B permit or L as I read that some receive L

Also we are in bern .and I was doing interview with a company in Zurich so can I work in Zurich and how long do I have to wait to get the permit

Thanks

It will be a B permit. And it takes as long as it takes. You’ll have to provide biometric info at some point in the process.

Are you planning to commute to Zurich from Bern or move there permanently?

Thanks for the info as some told me it take 3 month to get it .I am asking to know my budget

Actually planning to work and my wife will be in bern and I will visit it from time to time

Well, you need to be careful with that. Family reunification permits require that you both live in the same place.

Oh so I will not be allowed to accept offers from Zurich unless she find a job in Zurich and works there as well

You could live somewhere in between so you each have more flexibility in terms of jobs. It's not realistic to think you can get married for the permit and then not live with your spouse AND not get caught trying it on .

Edit- Or depending on where in Zurich the work is you could commute every day from Bern.

Which is quite a long way. Can be done, people do it but it takes a lot of your free time away

1 hour to 1.20 each way, depending on train... it's not that bad!

That is train station to train station? Add the commute to and from the train stations, can be a lot depending on where you live?

Sure. However OP is only recently married and doesn't even have a permit in hand, yet wants to live in a separate canton from his spouse. As a non-EU that's not really a stellar idea and is bound to send up red flags. Even registering as a Wochenauftenthalter doesn't seem like a good idea, since part of the reason for the permit is the spouses are supposed to be living together.

If OP successfully lands a job in Zurich, I'd recommend dealing with a commute until finding housing that's a decent distance for both.

Eh, my commute is around 3:50 every day and I've been doing that every day for about 2 years now so that I wouldn't restart my B-permit clock.

It's doable.

A good excuse to improve friendship with Duolingo!

Actually what is gong to happen is I reside in Zurich and she is been and see each other from Thursday till Sunday

As other have said, better check that out as a family reunification is to live together, not apart. And that will be noted as soon as you register in a separate place from your partner.

I highly recommend you tread carefully with this plan. Family reunification permit means that you came here to be with your spouse - not that you live elsewhere and only visit.
