Martin Rüter: 'Der Tut Nix!'

Saw Martin Rüter's (Der Hundeprofi, on VOX) live show, 'Der Tut Nix!', last night - absolutely side splitting hilarious. Highly entertaining, and thought provoking as well. From this canine behaviorial nerd's viewpoint , as well as from my non-nerd colleagues', a great evening.

I like Rüter's style - he combines solid canine behavioral knowledge with humor and common sense. A gem among the pantheon of 'entertaining' dog trainers.

He will be in St. Gallen, Basel and Sursee in September - don't know if tickets are still available (the Hallenstadium was sold out btw), but if they are... highly recommended.

I like Rüter's style as well. I wonder if he always gets good results?

Maybe I should send the Belltie his way?

As with all TV dog training programs the bottom line is that it IS entertainment. The 'tough stuff', the actual work, is boring and repetative - and thus often edited out.

What I like about Martin Rütter is that he makes is clear that there are no quick fixes, that the owner must commit to a consistent and often lengthy training or therapy program.

The live show was mostly humor - we dog owners need to laugh at ourselves more often.

I am a big fan of his, too. He is indeed a dog whisperer. I am also always amazed how Cesar Millan deals with problem dogs and their owners.

We had a problem with our large dog, he was agressive to other dogs bigger than a Jack Russel dog.

We employed a Swiss man, a follower of Cesar Millan, who told us that our dog was protecting us against the other dogs.

He was correct, we changed our attitude to our dog, showed him we were quite capable of looking after ourselves, and now the aggressive behaviour to other large dogs has almost gone.

That's great. Would you be willing to share the name of the person? And was it expensive?
