Martini & Rossi Asti Spumante

A Very good day to everyone and congrats for this fantastic work called englishforum.

I have been in zurich for past 3 months and regular reader here. I have been looking for a sparkling wine, the name is Asti Spumante. Actually Martini & Rossi makes this sparkling wine called Asti Spumante.

I had this wine regularly when I was in US, but somehow I am not able to find this wine here.

Can anyone from this forum help me out in finding this sparkling wine in Zurich. I have searched in almost all stores in and around HB as well as Denner.

If anyone has came across this wine, please let me know.

.....a lil descriptoin of this wine.

Try Cava, Cremente or Prosecco, add sugar, and you will get the cheap fizz that you are looking for.

Most decent shops here in Switzerland should have Moscato d'Asti, which is pretty much the same wine. I've seen some pretty good stuff at Manor, but COOP should have it as well. It's usually a pretty sweet wine, so you might find it in the dessert wine sections.

I've always used to drink Moscato D'Asti which is a dessert wine, but I see on the web there's also Spumante D'Asti (called also simply "Asti"). They say the difference between the two is that Moscato is sweeter and less sparkling than the latter.

I'd say, go to COOP or Denner and try Moscato D'Asti. You might not notice the differences or like it more than spumante. Otherwise good luck with your searches... now that you told me next time I will go for shopping I will look for this spumante, you made me curious :-)

More info here, you can translate the page with babelfish or google:

P.S.: if you like sweet/sparkling wines and want to try a red one, try Lambrusco. If you like Moscato you'll like this too

I've seen and bought the Martini Asti Spumante in both COOP and Carrefour.

Thank you all for the replies. I will go to coop and lookout for Martini Asti.

Thanks Fabio for giving me the option of red one too.........i am going to try that out.
