Hello
I am thinking of enrolling for the MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) at the ETH - in Management, Technology and Economics, while continuing to work in my current job.
Is there anyone on the forum who has graduated in this area? How has the course helped you?
Shall be grateful for inputs & experiences.
I have finished this program. The MAS MTEC is pretty much an MBA specifically tailored for graduates in engineering or science. I can definitely recommend it due to the quality of the teaching, the wide range of elective lectures/courses & the affordable pricing.
Downside is the teaching schedule which doesn't fit as well into a working person's schedule as other compareable programs do. But this is actually just the flipside of the affordable price: Many of the MAS MTEC lectures are regular lectures of full-time master programmes at ETH.
Thanks for the information. If I may ask - could you manage finishing the course while simultaneously working? What advantages / changes did it bring to the nature of your job?
Thanks a lot for the information
Hello,
I am also trying to enroll for this course..
I have a 4-years engineering bachelors and 7 years of work experience..they said I could apply...selection would be based on grades and additional qualifications
How easy is to get admission? Is there lot of competition ?
intake is limited to 60 students per year.
I guess you guys were working while doing this course ? How much did you reduce your workload ? did you have any problems with the permit while doing this course ? I asked the migration office whether I can do part-time studies with this course and they said
"Ihre Bewilligung erlaubt Ihnen weder einen Stellenwechsel noch eine Àˆnderung in einen Studienaufenthalt."
workload: i reduced my job to 80% during the studies.
permit: cannot share any experience as i have a swiss citizenship.
Hi Videopac,
wanted to ask you one thing regarding the MAS course which ip2012 also asked.
What advantages / changes did it bring to the nature of your job and also for your batch?
Thanks alot for the information.
in my case i changed my job just after graduating. whether this can be directly attributed to the MAS MTEC cannot be answered 100%... in general, i'll put it like this: apart from extending your network, a program like this one has 2 effects: 1st you gain additional knowledge, and 2nd you send a signal to an employer that you are willing to develop yourself. both may help to get a new / better job, but it's definitely not "guaranteed"... it depends on what you make out it. however, the program & school is definitely very good for people in it/science/engineering industries. and ETH has a good reputation.
