McDonalds in Switzerland

The Swiss diet, although perhaps heavy on bread, potatoes and cheese, works because the Swiss take a lot of exercise.

If you don't take the exercise then perhaps you ought to lay off that and have a bit more salad?

What with all the talk about McDonalds I found myself desiring a visit to the golden arches! Sent my OH a text saying lets meet there for lunch only to receive no reply. Ended up having homemade soup and bread instead.

Saw this, couldn't help it...

lol awesome !!!

I have worked in McDonalds for one year and it buys all meat, vegetables (food in general) in the own country where it stays

So I can imagine that is the reason the price is different in each country...

Not just that of course. Swiss employees are much expensive than in other countries, as is the building rent in key areas. All of those drive prices up.

That's the best option, but some times, I'm too tired in the evening, to bother thinking about tomorrow's meal.

Yes really, food here sucks, plain and simple. The Swiss working population feeds itself with silly sandwiches and ready to go meals. There are no light choices for a warm snack/meal which doesn't consist of some sort of luke warm sandwich, a kebab or soggy, bland pasta.

Of course I cant imagine living with the wage of spain in zurich!!!

How is that any less annoying to you than taking every opportunity to heap ridiculous levels of praise upon Switzerland while simultaneously tearing down everyone else?

Nothing wrong with sandwich based lunch, I grew up on that and not in switzerland. Has saved me an absolute fortune using this approach and much healthier then most of the options being suggested.

On the time when I do go looking for a simple to find snack they are actually extremely easy to find and not soggy as mentioned. There is always a bratwurst, hotdog and bretzel style take away place and easy to find something decent for 10CHF or under.

The French fries at Coop aren't bad. In moderation, they're not a bad snack...

I'm with you on this, LiB. I hate cold lunches. Any chance you could do some prep on the weekend and take something homemade to heat up at the office?

Did this thread become "Let's look after LiB's dietary whines"?? If so, offtopic, surely

(This media appearance has really gone to his head if he expects us to make lunch for him. He'll be demanding bowls of green M&Ms in his dressing room shortly!)

Anybody ever actually checked the nutrition on a brezel or sandwich from Brezelkonig? Or a kebab? My guess is that they aren't a ton better for you than a McD's burger...

Chips - I try to be helpful all the time, even if I am OT some of the time.

Good point. I find it amusing when peeps get the 12 inch Meatball sub from Subway and think it is the "healthy" option.

BTW there is nothing wrong with a 12" Meatball sub, as long as you can work the calories off.

That Japanese eating champion manages to stay skinny, so I think most of us can too.

''McDonald’s issued an apology for the false advertising.''

Interesting....

haha - big fail!
