I love the fact that he could become such a huge, famous star performer and not conform to the "healthy" look which is (almost) a prerequisite for stardom these days ... This "healthy" look being generally underweight and/or seen through filters & photoshop ... if not surgery ... rather than a genuine healthy state. Of course, Meat Loaf was overweight and had a less than ideal diet (and lifestyle) ...
Back in the day singers and other musicians were judged on their ability to perform, not how sexy they looked - and music was better for it.
