Meatloaf has died at the age of 74.
RIP -Good memories from the early 80's...
His name is Robert Paulson!
He can now see Paradise...
Er, Marvin Lee Aday actually...
Great loss. But I am surprised he made it to 74 actually, as he always looked as though a heart attack was just round the corner. He died of/with Covid apparently- but sadly indicates how Covid will kill those who are not in a good physical shape.
ThumbsUp!
I got it, I got it!!!!
I always wondered what exactly "that" was, when he said he would do anything for love but won't do THAT.
It's one of life's greatest mysteries.
Bingo! Same here- been wondering ever since!
Wonder if we will ever know what "that" was
Always assumed it was "screwing around".
You actually needed to ask Jim Steinman, who wrote it...

(Hint: answer is in the song, apparently.)
BOOH was the soundtrack to my formative years, sitting in the dark listening through headphones. Sleep well, Mr Meat.
Kind regards
Ian
Some of the great lyrics by Steinman/Meat Loaf:
"I swore that I would love you to the end of time!
So now I'm praying for the end of time To hurry up and arrive
'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive"
from: Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
Discovered him way back in `77 during High School in NY.
His albums (most of them) have been with me ever since..
RIP
I will never forget the way you feel right now. I’ll do anything for love but I won’t do that.
Whatever that means.
What a nasty little comment
To be fair, my dad was an alcoholic and depressed and he died at 75. I'd say the comment was more pragmatic than nasty.
It certainly was not meant to be nasty. Always loved ML and his music- but always found it sad that he looked as though he would not live into old age, sadly.
