Mediterranean restaurants in Bern close to HBF - any recommendations?

Hi Folks,

I shall be rocking into Bern HBF on Friday late afternoon before transgressing to the stadium to see The Mode. I'm looking for recommendations of good mediterranean/italian/spanish eateries for an early dinner within 5-10 mins by tram from HBF. Also if you know of any classy cocktail joints....just to get the party started please let me know.

Aww, are there no nice Bern people that could give me a few tips for some restaurants? I've looked on the web but can't seem to find any good ones

what is your budget?

there is tibit's at the station. if you are willing to walk about 10 minutes to zytglogge, you can go to ringgenberg. it gets very busy, so make sure you book. it is a bit expensive and the service is sometimes slow but the food is good.

at bundsplatz (5 minutes walk from the station) there are a couple of italian places and other restaurants. probably not the best food you ever had (although i have not tried all of them) but quicker and perhaps less pricey (not always though)

if you fancy pizza, about 10 minutes walk from the station there is Dabucolo. perhaps the best pizza in bern, even my italian friends approve. they also do gllutein free pizzas. reservation advisable! http://www.dabucolo.ch/

quite close to the station there is also papa joe's, a mexican http://www.papajoes.ch/bern/deutsch/ i have never been there, so i cannot comment on the food.
