Ok, found one metal detector from my storage. Should I pack it when moving or not? What I have learned is that you have to have some kind of permission of use metal detector devices. Does anyone know which legal advisors I should connect?
Anything found, automatically becomes property of the state - no such thing as treasure trove, here.
Handy for finding underground pipes, though.
yeah sure, but anyway is it that you get fined when they found out you are detecting metals without proper docs, licenses etc?
Going to open a jewellery shop or a bank here ?
I think it could be more a source of possible issues than needs here..
but may be I'm wrong...
Hmm... Actually I was cleaning my storage room and found out that I have this device which has not been used _for awhile_. Just wanted to know if I should pack it with other stuff when I am moving or not? But seems that I should sell the device, instead of permission of usage..?
..... but Japan's a long way to go for just a metal detector.
I recently heard a short discussion on the radio about this question. Apparently there is no Swiss law which flatly bans the use of metal detectors. On the other hand each and every Kanton has regulations which have to be met and these can be qualified by contacting the respective kantonal archeologist who can say what is and what is not allowed. It seems that sometimes detectors are welcomed as an added help to areas where no previous excavations have been done.
Hope this helps.
Thanks! I already have read that somekind of permission is needed, but my source was not telling from where the permission has to be asked and not giving clues how possible it is to get one. So I will probably try to figure out where to find kantonal archeologist and post the results here if someone else is thinking this kind of activity
Please see Swiss Civil Code
and Art 724
A cantonal or local permit may be required for gem prospecting ( Strahlerpatent )
I think, depending on which canton you are interested in, I could direct you to a cantonal archeologist.
Better bring enough Koskenkorva and the like with you- they are not to find in Switzerland
Ok, let`s make a compromise: I will bring Koskenkorva-detector with me
Exellent ... but unfortunately useless here
Results could be pretty much same with metal detector also
Could it be an option to leave your metal detector in Finland and fetch it later if you need it here and once you've checked the legal aspects?
A good reason to visit home then...
Whatever makes you happy..
